About Me

Educational History:

I am a 1987 graduate of Flathead High School in Kalispell, MT.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Montana State University in Bozeman, MT, with a self-defined minor in Early Childhood Special Needs.

I graduated with a Master of Education degree in Reading from East Central University in Ada, OK.

Degrees and Certifications:

Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Master of Education in Reading.  Additional school certifications include Early Childhood, Mild to Moderate Disabilities, Autism, and Traumatic Brain Injury.  Outside of the school system, I have been certified as an Early Childhood Music Specialist with Kindermusik International, and as a Therapeutic Listening Therapist with Vital Links.

Current Position:

I began my career at Vanoss Elementary in 2007, when I signed on to teach 4th grade.  After 2 years in 4th grade, I moved down to pre-k.  I spent 8 years in pre-k. I am currently teaching in our new sensory classroom, the Active Learning Lab.

Previous Position:

I began my teaching career in 1990, when I was hired as a part-time teaching assistant in a private preschool and kindergarten, while I was in college.  I taught there until the fall of 1992, when I  started my student teaching experience in 3rd grade at Morning Star Elementary School in Bozeman, MT. After graduating in December of 1992, I was hired at Morning Star Elementary School as an aide in the early childhood special needs program, and as a Co-Counselor for the school district’s CARE program.

In 1993, I accepted a position teaching 4th grade in Ashland, MT.  I was in Ashland for 3 years where I taught 4th grade, 5th grade, and K-8 Title I Reading/5-8 Music.  In 1996 I moved to Roy, MT, to teach Kindergarten.  I taught Kindergaren in Roy for 6 years and started the state’s first public pre-k program.  While in Roy, I met and married my husband, Tyler Rindal.  We moved to Oklahoma in 2002 and I was a stay-at-home mom/Kindermusik teacher until my youngest child was ready for kindergarten and I went to work at Vanoss.

In the 2013-2014 school year, I was selected as the Vanoss Teacher of the Year.  I went on to be selected as one of twelve finalists for Oklahoma State Teacher of the Year for the 2014 – 2015 school year.

Family Information:

I married Tyler Rindal in 1998.  Tyler runs our family business, Rindal Ranches, which is a cattle backgrounding operation.  We have two children. Emma is currently a sophomore at Murray State College.  She teaches dance for the Chickasaw Nation.  Collin is a senior at Vanoss and also a student at the Pontotoc Technology Center. He participates in shooting sports and is a member of our high school trap team He will be attending Eastern State College in the fall.  His favorite event is skeet shooting, though he also shoots trap and sporting clays.  We have 2 dogs, a cat, several horses, and we are “foster parents” to several head of cattle.

Personal Information:

When I am not teaching, I enjoy attending my children’s events and spending time with my family, which keeps me very busy.  When not in school, I can usually be found in an auditorium watching dance, or on a gun range, watching skeet or trap shooting.  I enjoy playing the piano, singing in the church choir, reading, baking and cooking.  I love being in school and I am considering pursuing a second masters degree when my children have graduated. I am also an independent influencer for Perfectly Posh products.  I enjoy pampering people at home parties and vendor events while introducing people to a wonderful line of pampering products.
